MADURAI: An estimated total number of 1,54,483 children in Madurai city from 0-5 years of age were identified for the polio drops – oral polio vaccine- at the Pulse Polio Immunization drive camps conducted by Madurai Corporation here as a part of Pulse Polio Immunization drive across India today- on Sunday- 31st January 2021. A press release from the Madurai Corporation here today had informed that polio immunization camps were there in Madurai city today to cover all children upto five years; from newborn – 0-5 yrs of age.
Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan had administered polio vaccine drops to kids at Aruldosspuram urban primary health cantre in the presence of senior corporation officials and health staff. Adequate arrangements were made for the pulse polio immunization in all the 100 wards of Madurai city today. Among those present at the start if Pulse Polio Immunization drive in Madurai city today include senior official Mr.Sekar, City Health Officer Dr.Kumaraguruparan, ACHO in-charge Dr.Ismail Fathima and Corporation PRO Mr.Chithravel.
