NO MEAT SHOPS FOR TWO DAYS- ON 28th & 30th Jan

MADURAI: There will be a complete ban on selling meat for two days- on January 28th (Thursday) and January 30th (Saturday) 2021…..because of respects to be paid to Vallalar Ramalainga Swamigal and Mahatma Gandhi respectively on these two days. The Madurai Corporation has given a stern message through a press release issued here on 25th January 2021. Slaughterhouses and meat shops should remain closed on these two days in Madurai city limits. The nation pays its respects to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on 30th January 2021 because of Gandhiji’s death anniversary.

Madurai Corporation’s health and sanitary workers will keep a strict vigil on these two days and immediate action will be taken on those selling meat, or opening meat shops or slaughtering of animals. The action will be taken in accordance with the Public Health Act 1939.
