MADURAI: The field visits of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the massive nationwide house to house and door-to-door ‘Meet the People’ campaign is giving answers to why people in Tamil Nadu are getting more inclined and supportive towards the BJP in a fluid political situation after the demise of former Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalithaa.
At various meeting points during the ‘Vistarak’ initiative aimed at growth of party from the booth level in Madurai on July 2nd 2017, the spontaneous words from the common man were : BJP is a GOD-fearing party and they believe in God.
These observations from voters telling why they like the party with and its value system is turning out to be a good omen for the BJP in Tamil Nadu in coming days especially in a State where people got carried away by the Dravidian ideology and its misleading whipping up campaign for decades.
One Dravidian party in particular which has been playing politics on the issue of temples, gods etc. is facing huge criticism now.
The growing popular mood towards the BJP was visible when the party leaders, full-time workers and cadres undertook people connect programme during the Vistarak mission to build a strong base in Tamil Nadu for electoral victory.
BJP IS IN, OTHERS ARE OUT:
From well-off people in residential apartments, flat association presidents, working professionals to slum-dwellers, the turnaround towards positively for BJP away from Dravidian parties is very clear.
Local AIADMK strong faces (Mr.R.Ramar – ward 49 with his team), who can woo the voters in Narayanapuram area in Thiruppalai Mandal in Madurai city, have joined the BJP by expressing lot of interest towards Modi, his way of governance and BJP ideology.
“The growing support for our party is highly satisfactory…our BJP cadres starting from mandal president to booth president in every ward and booth are working hard. today (July 2nd 2017–Sunday), I can say that all are working well in Thiruppalai Mandal in Madurai city,” BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan has said after completing ‘Vistarak’ work, along with a team.
STEP UP THE MOMENTUM:
Urging the party cadres to step up the momentum, he said that it is heartening to notice people’s support at all levels and the way they are welcoming BJP.
“With more time and human resources we are deploying, there is no doubt that BJP will be a major party in Tamil Nadu also. Local leaders, councillors etc are willing to join us. The BJP has a strategy in place for Madurai region and the coming days are ours ,” said Dr.Srinivasan while speaking to the “Lotus Times” after the people connect programme in Thiruppalai.
Y.Sasi Kumar, SC district morcha president of Madurai BJP, S.Perumal, Thiruppalai Mandal president, R.Jothi Manivannan, Pudur Mandal president and district party leaders including K.K.Nagar M.Kannan along with local functionaries of BJP were present during the membership enrolment and campaign exercise in Madurai Thiruppalai mandal jurisdiction on July 2nd (Sunday).
