MADURAI: Smart City Mission construction works for improving civic infrastructure facilities are going on in full swing in Madurai city. A massive multi-level multi-storey vehicle parking facility is coming up in Madurai and it is expected to be ready by coming October. On 7th September 2020, Cooperation Minister Mr.Sellur K.Raju had inspected the works in progress for Multi-Level Parking facility coming up at an estimated cost of Rs.40 crore at the Old Central Market here near the Meenakshi Temple. The Central Government is giving funding support for making Madurai as a Smart City.
A press release from the Madurai Corporation here on 7th September 2020 has informed that there will be parking facility for 110 four wheelers and 1,401 two-wheelers in this vehicle parking unit coming up under the Smart City project in Madurai city near the Meenakshi temple. City Engineer of Madurai Corporation Mr.Arasu, Executive Engineer Mr.Rajendran and Mr.Murugesa Pandian, Corporation PRO Mr.Chithravel were among those present during the Minister’s visit here today.
