MADURAI: Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) campus here today- on 5th September 2020. MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.M.Krishnan has said that education always leads its way for societal development and the role of teachers is pivotal. Dr.G.Marimuthu, INSA Honorary Scientist-School of Biological Sciences, MKU delivered keynote address and spoke about the National Education Policy 2020. Dr.V.S.Vasantha, MKU Registrar In-Charge, welcomed the gathering while university’s Special Officer Mr.K.Balakrishnan proposed a vote of thanks, according to a press release from the varsity here today. Faculty members of the university also spoke and interacted with the experts on National Education Policy 2020. Retired professors were honoured on the occasion of Teacher’s Day today. Teachers of Middle School and Public School of MKU were specially invited for today’s function and they were honoured for their committed service to the teaching profession, the press release added.
