On 5th September 2020, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mr.V.C. Sajjanar has given all details to the media at a press conference in Hyderabad about this dubious links between some petrol bunks and ‘chip’ suppliers. The petrol bunks that have been alerted today belong to IOC, HPCL, BPCL and Essar.

A network is operating supplying ‘electronic chips’ that are being used in fuel stations in southern States with the network connection extending to Karnataka too.

“In some bunks, it was found during the checks that 80 ml is missing but the customer is paying full amount. A gang is operating in Telangana, AP etc with a network. There is cheating taking place in some fuel stations where ‘engineered’ meters are there. So, this exposure is a warning that more physical checks must be done in petrol bunks.
