MADURAI: The Madurai district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has launched ‘Vistarak’ initiative on June 23rd 2017 to expand its base at the booth level through direct contact with people, is getting good response.
Full-time workers of the party are being deputed to booths in all assembly constituencies for 15 days from June 23rd where they are explaining the various schemes of Modi government, undertake membership drive and thereby increase the public support for BJP.
Mr.Saseeraman, BJP Madurai Urban district (city) president, told ‘Lotus Times” on June 27th-Tuesday, that the response from people is encouraging and the Vistarak volunteers are creating good awareness about the party at booth level. “People are seeing the BJP as a very good option now. Since our party is well known for its fight against corruption and prevention of corruption at all levels, BJP is emerging as right option,” he added.
Mr.Saseeraman informed that people are ready to join the BJP and women in particular are showing lot of interest to join after seeing the good governance of Mr.Modi.

FULL-TIME WORKERS FIELDED:
More than 200 full-time workers of the party are spending time at booth level in all the 1,223 booths in Madurai urban district of the BJP.
During a similar direct contact drive in K.Pudur area in Madurai city (Ward 45-Booth 86) on June 26th evening, the team led by party’s State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan received overwhelming support from the local people. Fifty persons (from minorities and Scheduled Castes) joined BJP in that just one-hour exercise at Pudur bus stand/Chanthanamala Koil Street).
R.Jothi Manivannan (Sankar), Pudur Mandal president, ‘Meesa’ Kannan, mandal vice-president, B.Durai Maran, ward president, V.Raju, booth president, V.Lakshmanan, booth secretary and party senior leader K.K.Nagar Kannan were among those who took part in the door-to-door contact programme in K.Pudur on June 26th along with Dr.Srinivasan.
