MADURAI: The Madurai District Tiny & Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) is hosting ‘Foodtech 2025’ expo at Ida Scudder Auditorium in Velammal Medical College campus-Ring Road in Madurai from May 2nd to May 4th 2025.
With 100 stalls roped in for the exhibition, it will showcase the latest in food processing and technology so as to create greater awareness about the opportunities available in food sector and the machinery available for food business operators and food startups.
Talking to reporters in Madurai today, MADITSSIA president Mr.A.Kodeeswaran has said that the focus is on creating new entrepreneurs in food processing because there is huge scope and business potential in Madurai region and also in southern districts.
“There will be about 100 stalls to display the food industry equipment and those who are in the food sector now can upgrade their technology. Entry is free for visitors and we have invited experts from various places to conduct special sessions on agro food products,” he said.

Mr.A.Anbarasan, Chairman- Food Tech expo and Mr.V.Suraj Sundara Shankar, Vice-Chairman, have informed the media here today that wider topics connected to food industry will be covered in the expo because experts are coming from government agencies and food industry.
“National level institutions like CFTRI, National Research Center for Banana, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management along with Tamil Nadu Food Processing and Agri Export Promotion Corporation are supporting this expo in Madurai. Those who are interested in food sector can explore the business potential and learn about food innovation, government schemes for farmers, value added products in banana, post harvest technology, agro food products value addition, food packaging technologies and export opportunities,” Mr.Suraj Sundara Shankar added.
On May 4th, there will be a cooking contest for kids, women and men at the expo venue while the organizers are also going to provide certificates who participate in the seminars. Exhibition timing is from 10.30 am to 7 pm.
Mr.V.Senthikumar, secretary, MADITSSIA, has said that food tech expo is being conducted for the third time and the public response will be very good due to the growing interest in food processing industry and the participation of experts from NABARD etc will be a value addition to this expo as they will explain about the business opportunities.
