CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi had greeted famous jeweller Shri.Vummidi Ethiraj on his 100th birthday yesterday-April 20th 2025. The Governor who was accompanied by his wife Mrs.Laxmi Ravi had attended the 100th birthday celebrations of Vummidi Ethiraj held at Venkataraman Street in T.Nagar in Chennai.
“Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi has recalled the legendary jeweller’s remarkable contribution, who crafted the ‘Sengol’, the sacred sceptre symbolizing the transfer of power from British rule to independent India in 1947 and ceremonially installed in the new Parliament building by Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi on May 28th 2023,” the Raj Bhavan has informed the media.
