MADURAI: The Madurai District Tiny & Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) has today thanked the government for accepting its request to allow immediate approval through self-certification for factory buildings.
“MADITSSIA welcomes the new facility provided by the government for obtaining immediate approval through self-certification for factory buildings being constructed within a maximum area of 2,690 sq ft (500 sq meters). This has been a long-standing request by our association and small entrepreneurs for new cottage industries being started in urban and rural areas of Madurai that fall under the green category industrial buildings,” Mr.A.Kodeeswaran, MADITSSIA president, has said in a press statement issued in Madurai today-April 10th 2025.
He also said that the reduction in minimum access road width required for industrial buildings located in village panchayat areas from 7 meters to 6 meters is a joy and relief to small and micro industrial enterprises. MADITSSIA has placed a request to the government to permit the existing cottage industries also under the new process.
