MADURAI: The 2025 Tamil New Year being celebrated in Tamil Nadu on April 14th 2025 is going to usher in several things new for the people of Tamil Nadu and in public-political life in the important ‘Dravidian’ State of Tamil Nadu.
If we go by all the current speculations today, there will be a new Governor for Tamil Nadu, there will be a new State president for Tamil Nadu BJP, there is going to be new policies getting implemented after the Supreme Court judgement yesterday and most importantly there is going to be a new political alliance for the 2026 Assembly elections.
So, in all probability, the people of Tamil Nadu are going to see something ‘New’ in the Tamil New Year 2025. This analysis is important as there is a strong speculation that the present Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi will be replaced and a new Governor will be appointed by the Centre soon, and this aspect gains importance because of the deliberations between AIADMK and BJP leaders at national level to forge a political alliance for the coming Assembly elections to take in the DMK alliance.
And, for that to happen the talk is that the present State president of BJP in Tamil Nadu Mr.K.Annamalai will be replaced with a new face very soon anytime. The DMK government too is armed with the latest Supreme Court order which said that the proposed new policies of Stalin government will come into effect and take shape for implementation.
In this context, the Tamil New Year 2025 will be really witnessing several things new in the next one year starting from Raj Bhavan to Assembly polls, from university Vice-Chancellors” appointment to new education system, from new issues like delimitation of constituencies to limiting of powers given to States by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre as is being accused by the present DMK government and many other issues.
