
MADURAI: The Vadamalayan Hospitals in Madurai had today-March 26th 2025- observed ‘Founder’s Remembrance Day’ in honour of founder Dr.P.Vadamalayan and it also celebrated the ninth anniversary of its Vadamalayan Integrated Cancer Center today.
Dr.Pugalagiri Vadamalayan, Chairman and Managing Director, Vadamalayan Hospitals, has said that the founder’s legacy of compassionate healthcare and social service continues to inspire the management and staff.
“Our founder Dr.P.Vadamalayan’s contributions to the society in various spheres is being recalled today because his spirit lives on through our commitment to provide compassionate patient-centric care,” the CMD has said in a message today for the Remembrance Day.
He was a pioneer in evidence-based medicine more than five decades ago, he was a recipient of the prestigious Rao Bahadur Award, was honorary surgeon at Government Erskine Hospital and instrumental in establishing Madurai Medical College.
The founder of Vadamalayan Hospital Dr.P.Vadamalayan was the first Syndicate member of Madurai University (now MKU), he was founder president of SVN College and Jeyaraj Nadar School and he served as president of Red Cross Society in Madurai. He also founded and presided over Cheshire Home for the aged and also supported students by initiating awards for academic excellence.
On March 26th 2025, the hospital also celebrated the 9th anniversary of Vadamalayan Integrated Cancer Center here which is dedicated for cancer care, hope and healing, the Chairman and Managing Director Dr.Pugalagiri Vadamalayan said today.
