MADURAI: The Director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad in Kerala Dr.A.Seshadri Sekhar has today advised fresh graduates and students to be strong in their domain knowledge whichever field they had chosen and put more focus on acquiring fundamental expertise in subject.

“My advise to you today is be strong in your domain. Be strong in your chosen field and keep your knowledge level high. If Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge) is strong, Lakshmi (Goddess of wealth) will follow and come to you. The passion to gain domain knowledge is important in today’s context,” he said while delivering the graduation day address at the Graduation Ceremony (Batch of 2024) of Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) in Madurai on March 22nd 2025.

Urging the passing out graduates to be positive in nature always, he cited the examples of Thomas Alva Edison and other scientists who succeeded in their experiments only because of their sheer perseverance and passion.

“Don’t forget your parents and teachers in life. They made lot of sacrifices for you. India is on the path of becoming a developed country in a powerful manner through ‘Viksit Bharat’ mission by the year 2047. Don’t get carried away by the current trends in technology. You pursue what you like, but make sure that you are equipped with soft skills, communication ability, team work approach and networking. Working together as a team is always more successful than individual contributions,” Dr.A.Seshadri Sekhar, Director of IIT Palakkad, Kerala, has said in Madurai today and exhorted the fresh graduates to be happy persons always by enjoying their profession.
