Netherlands Consul-General cites ZOHO example for investments; Explains’ WAH!’ agenda at Madurai SIDA conclave

MADURAI: The Consul-General of Netherlands Mr.Ewout de Wit has today emphasized that his country’s aim for 2025 is finalize a firm strategic partnership with India and the leaders both the nations are in the process of giving a shape to it very soon.

“This is my first visit to Madurai. As a Consul-General of Netherlands, I am based in Bangalore and explore for Dutch businesses in South India, find markets and entrepreneurs for them. Our country is proceeding with WAH! agenda with India and that is Water, Agriculture and Health. However, the coming strategic partnership plan will include security aspects, cyber security and similar areas also in the context of current geopolitical situation,” he said while speaking at ‘SIDA Synergy 2025’ technology conclave held in Madurai today-March 21st 2025- organized by Software Industries Development Association to commemorate 15 years of SIDA.

The Netherlands Consul General had cited the example of tech major ZOHO from Tamil Nadu which had invested in Netherlands. “Companies from Tamil Nadu invested in our country. It doesn’t matter where you are placed. On Wednesday, I went to ZOHO in Tenkasi where I met the founder Mr.Sridhar Vembu. A software company that works from Tenkasi in your State is having its office and operations in Netherlands also. We are interested in projects connected to green hydrogen, semi-conductors, water culture and cyber security etc,” the Consul General has said in Madurai today.

Mr.Sivarajah Ramanathan, founder president of SIDA and CEO-Startup TN, Mr.Kathir Kamanathan, CEO, Chella Software and Mr.Mahadesha V, Director, STPI-Chennai were among those who addressed the delegates.

Earlier in the day, the conclave began with keynote address by Mr.S.Krishnan, Secretary, Union Ministry of Electronics and IT, who spoke about the IT parks coming up in Madurai and the opportunities that will be available in emerging technologies for local job opportunities.

There was also a new product launch today by ‘Bautomate 2.0’ which is a hyper automation platform. Mr.R.Prabhuram, president, SIDA, gave an overview about the objectives of this conclave conducted in Madurai today.
