MADURAI: Officials of the district administration and Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple here are gearing up for the famous Chithirai festival 2025 which is witnessed by lakhs of people every year and arrangements are picking up for this world famous divine festival.
This year’s Chithirai festival commences on April 29th 2025 with flag hoisting in the Meenakshi Temple while the ‘Pattabhishekam’ is on May 6th 2025. The celestial wedding ‘Thirukalyanam’ will take place on May 8th 2025 and the most important public congregation for Lord Kallazhagar’s entry into Vaigai River is on May 12th 2025.
All the departments involved for Chitihrai festival especially the police department and traffic police are preparing the action plan for this important temple festival in Madurai.
