MADURAI: The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (Tamil Nadu) which is situated at flower market complex in Matthuthavani in Madurai has started the 14th Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) under the AC & ABC scheme of the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare on February 14th 2025 at the CED premises here and 35 graduates of agriculture and allied disciplines were selected for this EDP which is a 45-day free residential entrepreneurship training program sponsored by the Government of India.
This EDP is of great significance because NABARD provides 44 per cent subsidy for a capital outlay of Rs.20 lakhs for women and SC/ST candidates, and provides 36 per cent subsidy for others, Dr.R.Jayaraman, Member Secretary, CED (Tamil Nadu)-Madurai, has said at the inaugural function held here on February 14th 2025.
The National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE)-Hyderabad under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of Government of India, had accorded its approval to CED (Tamil Nadu) to conduct training program for which two screening interviews were conducted in Madurai on February 12th and 13th 2025.
The MANAGE had approved the screening and interview committee members and they include Mr.Prashant T.Naik, Lead District Manager, Canara Bank-Madurai, Dr.P.Arul Arasu, Associate Professor (Horticulture)-KVK-ACRI of Madurai, Dr.M.Subburajan, Nodal Officer-AC & ABC Scheme, CED (Tamil Nadu) in Madurai and Dr.M.R.Bhavanjali, consultant, MANAGE-Hyderabad.
The inaugural function of this training programme took place on February 14th 2025 in Madurai at CED (Tamil Nadu) premises in Mattuthavani flower market here and the special invitees include Dr.K.Muthupandian, manager (S), Farm Sector Technical Officer-SBI Administrative Office, Mrs.A.Amsaveni, secretary,Madurai Marketing Committee-Madurai and Mrs.Mercy Jayarani, Deputy Director-Agri Business, and both from Department of Agriculture of Government of Tamil Nadu.
Mr.P.Subburaj, Joint Director of Agriculture, Government of Tamil Nadu, was invited as chief guest for the inaugural function of this agriculture EDP program, the press release said.
