
MADURAI: A significant collaboration between Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital in Madurai and Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand is going to take shape soon in a big way as a part of global collaborations in healthcare research and medical education.
A top level meeting took place on January 18th 2025 between the leadership team of Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital comprising Dr.S.Gurushankar, Chairman of Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre and Mrs.Kamini Gurushankar while the Auckland University of Technology team had Prof.Brett Cowan, Prof.Jan Dewar, Prof.Sonal Dholakia and Mr.Dev Dutta, Development Consultant, Australia.
“The Auckland University of Technology (AUT) team from New Zealand had seen the state-of-the-art facilities available at Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital here and its group institutions including the Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Meenakshi Hospital at Thanjavur and in Meenakshi College of Nursing. The proposed collaboration with AUT is a milestone for our Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital’s journey in world class healthcare. This is a potential partnership for elevating the healthcare standards and medical education in Madurai. AUT in New Zealand offers over 250 programs across various disciplines starting from certificate courses to doctoral degrees. AUT is also a major provider of health science education in New Zealand offering many courses in medicine,” Dr.S.Gurushankar, Chairman, Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre in Madurai, has said in a press statement here on January 18th 2025 and added that this collaboration will help for advancing healthcare education, research innovation and technological integration.
