MADURAI: An advocate in the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court has demanded for a CBI enquiry or a CB-CID enquiry into the Ph.D entrance examination marks scandal which is saying that the normalization method to give bonus/grace marks to candidates is a big scam that involved huge money given to persons involved in that issue.

V.Kalaiselvan, advocate, has sent a complaint letter on December 29th 2024 to the MKU Registrar, giving him information about the alleged Ph.D. entrance exam marks scandal and the bribe money that was involved to the persons involved in that matter.

This letter demanding CBI probe was sent to the MKU Registrar, MKU Convener Committee convener, Syndicate member Dr.Myilvaganan and to the senior officials of Higher Education Department of Government of Tamil Nadu.

“I am going to file writ if the MKU Convener Committee and MKU Registrar do not hand over the case to CBI or CB-CID for a thorough probe to bring out the truth. I am also seeking immediate suspension of MKU Research Coordinator Prof.Vasantha and section superintendent Kuppusamy. I demand action against the Principal of American College M.Davamani Christober who is a former member of CC panel of MKU here,” advocate V.Kalaiselvan from Madurai has said in his petition letter to MKU and a copy of which was received by the Lotus Times media in Madurai today.

The advocate also demanded that the results of 300 candidates who were given pass in the Ph.D. entrance admission exam should be taken back….withhold…because there are complaints that the marks results given is illegal and improper due to wrong normalization method.

Advocate Mr.Kalaiselvan also questioned the credentials, legality and ability of the 5-member enquiry committee formed with junior professors. “Bonus marks were given in this Ph.D entranc exam….300 candidates were given pass marks after giving them bonus grace marks on compassionate grounds. The MKU enquiry committee is just an eyewash now and I am demanding for a fair and transparent enquiry to unearth the Ph.D marks scandal in MKU. So, I am requesting to dissolve the enquiry committee and hand over the investigation to reputed investigation agencies like CBI and CB-CID,” he said in his appeal letter to MKU Registrar dated December 29th 2024.
