MADURAI: The Agro Food Chamber in Madurai has been renamed as ‘Agri & All Trade Chamber’ to accommodate all sectors of trade and industry. At a special function held in the chamber’s premises at Sikkanthar Chavadi here today- December 21st 2024, the new new name and new logo were unveiled with new tagline ‘….Enhancing our GDP’.
The Agro Food Chamber of Commerce and Industry was started in the year 2010 by its founder Mr.S.Rethinavelu for the benefit of farmers, agro food processors and agro traders.
“Our chamber’s services are being availed not only by agro sector but others also. So, there was a demand for renaming the chamber suitably to accommodate all sectors of trade and industry. Acceding to the members’ demand, the Agro Food Chamber is renamed now and from today it will be ‘Agri & All Trade Chamber’ with a new logo. This new name will enable us to focus on agriculture, manufacturing, service sector ,exports etc. This will be a participatory chamber for you all, we will guide you and help. There will be expert committees for all verticals. The Agro Food Trade Centre was started in 30 acres of land at Sikkanthar Chavadi 14 years back with government assistance and it has emerged and evolved into a major business place for agro food units,” Mr.S.Rethinavelu, founder of the chamber, whose 82nd birthday was celebrated by the chamber members today, has said at the renaming function.
With this new name and new model, the Agri & All Trade Chamber’ will be open to persons who are engaged in any trade or manufacturing, service providers, exporters, MSMEs, start-ups, farmers, students who want to become entrepreneurs, chambers of commerce and trade associations, Farmer Producer Organizations, Self Help Groups and others.
Senior successful entrepreneurs Mr.K.Thirupathi Rajan of Raj Exim and Mr.C.Karthikeya Prabhu of Krishya Logistics (Chennai and Tuticorin) along with Mr.C.Ravikumar, Mr.K.Suresh Kumar and Mr.Sundar were among those who spoke at the renaming function ceremony held in the chamber auditorium at Sikkanthar Chavadi in Madurai on December 21st 2024. The chamber also inaugurated ‘You Export’ YE platform today to promote exports from this region with expert guidance.
