MADURAI: Eight employees of Southern Railway will be conferred the prestigious award of Railway Board- Athi Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar- in recognition of their exemplary performance and outstanding service in their field of work. The awards will be presented to them at the 69th Railway Week Awards ceremony to be held in New Delhi on December 21st 2024.
Among the eight employees of Southern Railway who will receive the award, two are gazetted officers Mr.Manjuanth Yadav, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer, Madurai and Mr.Boopathy Raja M, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Salem.
The six non-gazetted staff of Southern Railway who will be conferred the prestigious ‘Athi Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar award 2025’ are A.Jawber Ali, Station Superintendent-Madurai, Tijo Kuriakose, senior technician, Perambur Loco Workshop, Nandini Jagadeesan, Chief Nursing Superintendent, Southern Railway Headquarters, S.Nandakumar, Train Ticket Inspector/Head Ticket Collector/Dy.CTI-Chennai, Girdhari Prasad Gond, Loco Pilot Goods (electrical)-Chennai and T.M.Gopalakrishnan, senior section engineer, Golden Rock Workshop.
“The Railway Board award is presented to the employees of Indian Railways every year for showcasing exemplary performance and outstanding service in their field of work. The ‘Athi Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar is instituted to recognize and reward exceptional contributions towards the growth and efficiency of Indian Railways. The Railway Week awards are celebrated annually to commemorate the commissioning of the first passenger train in India on April 16th 1853 and the award is announced at the Railway Board level and conferred by the Union Minister of Railways and this awards holds a the highest significance in railway employees’ career,” a press release received from Southern Railway on December 17th 2024 has informed and congratulated the eight awardees for their dedication and outstanding contribution.
