New Pamban Bridge: High-speed trial run of special train on Nov 14th; Inspection to be done by Commissioner of Railway Safety

MADURAI: The Commissioner of Railway Safety (Southern Circle)-Bengaluru Mr.A.M.Chowdhary will conduct a statutory inspection at Pamban in Tamil Nadu on November 13th and 14th 2024 in Pamban-Mandapam sections.

There will be a high speed trial run on November 14th 2024 (Thursday) using a special train formation between Pamban and Mandapam railway stations of Madurai Division of Southern Railway between 8 am and 3 pm on that day, a press release received from Southern Railway has informed today.

All users of railway lines between Pamban and Mandapam railway stations have been cautioned not to approach the railway lines during the period of November 14th high-speed trail run.

On November 13th 2024, the Commissioner of Railway Safety will conduct a statutory inspection of the New Pamban Bridge (Re-Construction of Bridge No.346) including the new broad gauge track single line between Mandapam and Pamban halt stations, and after that the CRS willo review the functioning, locking and centering arrangements of the vertical lift girder span on the New Pamban Bridge on November 14th 2024, the Southern Railway press release informed.
