8th Std student to perform her ‘Bharatanatya Arangetram’ in Madurai on November 15th

MADURAI: Selvi CT.Akila, a class 8 student of Lakshmi School in Madurai, is performing her ‘Bharatanatya Arangetram’ at the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce auditorium here on November 15th 2024.

She is a disciple of Dr.L.Murugashankari who is the Director of Kalai Koodam Academy of Performing Arts at Anna Nagar in Madurai from where the just 12-year-old child had emerged as a captivating Bharatanatya dancer filled with confidence and creativity.

CT.Akila had already given a few dance performances as a part of her guru’s team at sabhas and temples and they include Navarathri festival at Meenakshi Temple, golden jubilee festival at Tamil Isai Sangam, Vasant Utsav at Kapali temple and Chennai Rotary District Foundation seminar etc.

“She is pursuing this wonderful divine artistic journey with passion and our thanks to her dance teacher Dr.L.Murugashankari who is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam artiste with great experience as a soloist and performed extensively in India and abroad. Our thanks to Kalai Koodam Academy of Performing Arts in Madurai,” the young dancer’s proud parents Mr.PL.Chidhambaram and Mrs.Annam Chidhambaram said in Madurai yesterday.

The ‘Bharatanatya Arangetram’ of selvi CT.Akila will take place at TN Chamber hall here on November 15th evening and the special invites include Rotary International Director Elect 2025-27 Rtn.AKS Er.Muruganandam M (MMM) who is the Chairman of Excel Group of Companies, film actor Dhamu and Tmt.Kavitha Charles, founder and director, Shree Kavithalaya in Chennai.
