MKU annual convocation today; Governor confers degrees to 54,000 students; 434 will receive Ph.Ds and medals on stage

MADURAI: The 56th annual convocation of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here will take place today-October 22nd 2024.

Tamil Nadu Governor and university Chancellor Mr.R.N.Ravi will preside over the convocation ceremony and confer degrees to totally 54,000 students while 434 candidates will receive their Ph.Ds and medals on stage.

Dr.Sudha Seshayyan, Vice-Chairperson, Central Institute of Classical Tamil-Chennai, will be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address. Dr.Govi.Chezhiaan, Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister, will attend the convocation ceremony.

Mrs.E.Sundaravalli IAS, Commissioner of Collegiate Education and Convener-Syndicate Committee and Prof.M.Ramakrishnan, Registrar in-charge, MKU, will be among those present along with members of the Senate, Syndicate, faculty and staff.

After attending the MKU convocation here today, the Governor will go to Kodaikanal to attend the Mother Teresa Women’s University convocation at Kodaikanal tomorrow.
