MADURAI: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorate of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar, is gearing up to send the contingent of best cadets to participate in the Republic Day parade 2025 at New Delhi.
Commodore S Raghav, Deputy Director General of NCC (TN, P A&N) from Chennai had visited the NCC Training Academy at Idayapatti near Madurai city on October 20th 2024 where the NCC cadets were selected through an Inter Group Competition 2024 for the entire Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar.
“The selected cadets will be participating in the Republic Day 2025. NCC Directorate conducts inter-group competitions every year for six NCC Group Headquarters-Madras ‘A’ and ‘B’, Trichy, Coimbatore, Pondicherry and Madurai, and each group having 100 cadets participate approximately in the camp where there will be drill, firing, flag area and cultural completion to select the best NCC cadets out of the six groups. They will participate in the Republic Day parade 2025 at New Delhi as a contingent representing Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar. The Deputy Director General had felicitated the outstanding NCC Group HQs, NCC cadets and Associated NCC Officers who took part in the 2024 event in Madurai on October 20th 2024. On October 20th 2024, Coimbatore got overall winners and Madurai got overall runners,” a press release here has informed.
