MKU pensioners meet Higher Education Minister in Chennai; Good news expected soon to resolve university’s financial crisis issues

MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister Mr.Govi Chezhian has given an assurance today that the State government will take effective measures to resolve soon the financial crisis issues of the university and find a solution to resolve the pensioners’ plight since they are not receiving their monthly pension due to financial crunch of MKU.

A team from MKU Pensioners’ Association from Madurai had met the Higher Education Minister in Chennai today- October 15th 2024- and made a detailed representation to him about the hardships being faced by MKU pensioners every month.

“He assured us to do the level best after discussing the MKU finance issues with the Chief Minister. Higher Education Minister Mr.Govi Chezhian had assured us that he will take effective measures within a short period and resolve the financial matters faced by our university,” the MKU Pensioners’ Association has said after the meeting which took place at Minister’s residence in Chennai today morning.

Among those who met the Higher Education Minister today include MKU Pensioners’ Association president Prof.A.Srinivasan and secretary A.Swaminathan along with former faculty member of MKU English Department Prof.P.Veeman and former Deputy Registrar of MKU Mr.K.Subburaj who is also a former Syndicate member of University of Madras.
