K.Pudur police station in Madurai holds public discussion to prevent crimes by ward-specific approach, community participation

MADURAI: The K.Pudur police station in Madurai city has come out with a ward-specific action plan for detection of criminals and prevention of crimes through voluntary community participation.

In this regard, an important public discussion was organized at Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School in K.Pudur on October 5th 2024 by inviting general public, local residents and representatives of residential associations who are in this police station limits, according to a press release received yesterday.

Police inspector Mr.K.Madasamy of K.Pudur police station had a detailed interaction on law and order issues with the public who attended this meeting and he clearly said that at least four wards where physical crimes are more must be identified in K.Pudur police station limits, and he also emphasized on how to identify crime patterns, importance of CCTVs in crime detection, cyber crimes and economic offences.

“Inspector Mr.K.Madasamy had given some suggestions to the public with focused approach for K.Pudur area. On behalf of the police department, a Whatsapp group has been created for people to register their grievances, suggestions and complaints,” the press release added.

Mr.Sheik Nabi, Headmaster, Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School, assistant inspector Anitha, Ward Councillor of Ward No.12 Mr.Maruthu, Tamiliyakka Madurai district secretary Mr.Palanichamy, Lourdu Nagar residential welfare association secretary Mansoor, constable Ganesh Kumar and Anand Kumar from the DMK, were among those present along with general public in this meeting that took place at Al-Ameen School here.

This interaction-cum public discussion by the K.Pudur police station was held following the circular issued by top police officials of Madurai district.
