MADURAI: An important announcement about Madurai airport is going to be made tomorrow- on October 1st 2024.
The Madurai airport will be a 24X7 airport operating flights at night time also and the airport authorities will announce this much awaited round-the-clock Madurai airport news at a simple ceremony here tomorrow, airport sources said.
The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Dr.N.Jegatheesan has today welcomed the decision taken by the Civil Aviation Ministry and Airports Authority of India to operate nigh time flights from Madurai and thereby make it a 24 hrs open airport.
“The Madurai airport which is handling international passengers too is now ready for 24 hrs flight services. An important announcement will be made tomorrow from the airport…on October 1st 2024 and after that the full details of flight schedule timings will be made public,” sources in Madurai airport told ‘Lotus Times’ English media here today.
Meanwhile, reliable sources said that the starting schedule of flights will start with a winter schedule from October 27th 2024.
The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Dr.N.Jegatheesan has said that there is going to be an important meeting on October 4th 2024 where the stakeholders will sit and take stock of this important decision and give suggestions to the airport authorities about the actual requirements and convenient timings of night time flights for passengers.
“I heard that there will be two domestic and two international flights at night timings…. The Tamil Nadu Chamber and CII and Travel Club etc are meeting on October 4th 2024 to put forth our suggestions for nigh time flights and how to make our Madurai airport as an effective 24 hrs airport for passengers here,” Dr.N.Jegatheesan added.
