MADURAI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now on a full swing for its membership drive to enroll new members into the party in Madurai city in Tamil Nadu and expand its base.
“A series of membership expansion drive initiatives are now underway in last four days through special camps in Madurai Urban district of BJP during this annual campaign and the target for Madurai City district unit of BJP is to get two lakh new members into our BJP party. There is a lot of momentum right now in our campaign which started on September 6th and it will go on till October 15th 2024. General public, women, students and many others are interested to join the BJP in Tamil Nadu and in our Madurai city too there are many people who joined our party starting from the booth level,” Mr.Mahaa Suseendhran, BJP Madurai City urban district president, told ‘Lotus Times’ media website here today- on September 10th 2024.
According to political sources in Madurai city, the BJP is now becoming a next option to the DMK in Madurai district because of the weak parameters of AIADMK and hence the weakening AIADMK base in Madurai city is shifting AIADMK cadres towards the BJP which is emerging stronger and was shown in the recent 2024 Lok Sabha elections by BJP candidate Prof.Raama.Sreenivasan from Madurai.
“There are 966 booths in Madurai…Our target for enrolling new members per booth is 200. The BJP ‘Karyakarthaas’ in each booth have been asked to get minimum 50 new members into the BJP in Madurai….. This membership enrollment campaign drive will be done in all the four Assembly constituencies in Madurai urban area….North, East, Central and West….the BJP’s total target is to get two lakh new members into the BJP and there is a space for us because AIADMK as a party is vanishing in Madurai,” BJP Madurai Urban District president Mr.Mahaa Suseendhran has said today when asked about the party’s membership drive.
