MADURAI: Vande Bharat trains have become very popular for rail travel in India. There is going to be another good news on track soon as train passengers will have ‘Vande Bharat Sleeper train’ version and it is expected that it will begin a new chapter in train travel experience.
The railway authorities gave interesting particulars about this version on September 1st 2024 and announced that Vande Bharat Sleeper Train offers fusion of advanced technology and comfort, the train will run at a maximum operational speed of 160 kms per hour during service, and it sets a new standard for rail travel.
“Vande Bharat sleeper train is an exciting expansion to the Vande Bharat portfolio. It has been meticulously designed to combine aesthetic appeal with functional excellence. All materials and components used in the train adhere to highest fire safety standards. It has superior interiors, it offers a passenger experience on par with European standards,” the Southern Railway had announced today, on September 1st 2024.
The Vande Bharat sleeper train has many salient features like best-in-class interiors with GFRP panels, aerodynamic exterior looks, modular pantry, fire safety high standards, special births and toilets for differently abled, automatic exterior passenger doors, sensor based intercommunication doors, ergonomically designed odour free toilet system, toilet for driving crew, shower with hot water in 1st AC car, integrated reading light with USB charging provision, public announcement and visual information system, modern passenger amenities, spacious luggage room etc.
Union Railway Minister Mr.Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State for Railways Mr.V.Somanna had introduced the production of Vande Bharat Sleeper version train set at BEML in Bengaluru. This train will have 16 AC coaches per train and the total number of berths is 823, with berths available in AC 3 tier, AC 2 tier and first class AC.
