MADURAI: The Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai had organized a marathon here today- August 25th 2024- in connection with 39th National Eye Donation Fortnight.
Staff and hospital doctors had participated in the marathon today morning from Viraganoor Ring Road to Aravind Eye Hospital by covering a distance of about five kilometers, with a public message ‘Run for a cause- Donate your eyes’.
Mr.Karan Garad IPS, Deputy Commissioner, had flagged off the marathon in which 150 hospital staff took part along with Dr.R.Kim, Chief Medical Officer, Dr.N.Prajna, Chief of Cornea Services, Mr.D.Saravanan, manager of eye bank and Mr.S.G.Ramanathan, PRO and others.
This marathon was conducted under the auspices of Aravind Eye Hospital, Aravind Eye Bank, Aurolab and Aravind Eye Care System, for the 39th National Eye Donation Fortnight being observed from August 25th to September 8th 2024.
