MADURAI: An important seminar on ‘NEET & NEP 2020: Challenges for Tamil Nadu’ is taking place in Chennai tomorrow- August 10th 2024, Saturday, to discuss and highlight the specific challenges faced by students, teachers, higher education system and parents.
This seminar is being organized by State Platform for Common School System- Tamil Nadu (SPCSS-TN) by inviting a few experts who will speak on topics that are connected to NEET entrance, NEP 2020, how to confront the challenges etc.
P.B.Prince Gajendra Babu, general secretary, SPCSS-TN, has said in a statement yesterday that the objective of Chennai seminar is to explain how NEET is an assault on science education, how National Education Policy 2020 affects the students who are joining colleges and universities for UG courses, how NEP is a threat to Government funded educational institutions, social justice, how NEET is a conspiracy in medical admission process, how students will become victims as NEET coaching becomes market and profit motive, the recent NEET controversies etc.
Those who are going to speak at the seminar tomorrow include Dr.P.Ratnasabapathy, Dr.J.Amalorpavanathan, Dr.R.Venkateshan, Dr.K.Ravi Kumar and Mr.P.B.Prince Gajendra Babu, and it will be held at NKT National College of Education for Women (behind Ice House police station) near Triplicane in Chennai, from 10 am to 1 pm.
