MADURAI: A disturbing incident where a senior woman faculty was insulted and attacked has taken place at Madurai Kamaraj University College (MKU College) in Madurai city today- on July 30th 2024.
A meeting of all department Heads of Department (HoD) was convened by MKU College Principal in-charge Prof.M.Buvaneswaran in his chamber today. When there was a heated argument on whether the PG classes can be started on August 5th 2024, there were some questions raised and at that time the Head of Department of Commerce CA- Prof. A.Rani had raised a question whether the department can be opened if student strength is less in number.
As per information received from MKU College here today, the deputy HoD of English Department of MKU College in Madurai Prof.K.Mohan had threatened the Head of Department Prof.Rani, and she was abused, orally attacked asking the woman HoD to get out of the HODs meeting that was held in MKU College Principal chamber in Madurai today- on July 30th 2024.
Aghast over this embarassing development that took place in his chamber, the MKU College Principal Prof.M.Buvaneshwaran had sent an urgent letter to the MKU authorities requesting them to relieve him from the post of MKU College Principal in-charge and take him back to his parent department in the university.
