MADURAI: Senior faculty member of MKU College in Madurai Prof.Dr.K.Mohan (Associate Professor and Head of Department of English-MKU College) has today raised a question asking how many times the present Principal in-charge of the college will keep on resigning and what is the actual real result he wanted by sending his resignation letter.
“Our MKU College Principal Dr.M.Buvaneswaran is sending his resignation letter to the Madurai Kamaraj University authorities for the third time today in the last five months. As a senior most faculty member of MKU College, I want to really know what is that he wants and how many times can a college Principal keep on sending resignation letter to MKU asking them to relieve him from Principal post,” Dr.K.Mohan of MKU College has said while speaking to ‘Lotus Times’ media in Madurai on July 30th 2024.
Dr.Mohan’s reaction comes in the wake of an appeal letter sent today by MKU Principal in-charge Prof.M.Buvaneshwaran asking the university to relieve him from Principal’s post after a complaint was made that there was a heated tussle in the HoDs meeting held in the college today morning and there was an allegation that a senior woman faculty was abused by a senior male faculty member Dr.K.Mohan from the English Department on the issue of when the classes for PG should be started for this academic year.
“I am a member of Admission Committee, so I asked a few basic questions in the meeting held in our MKU College today- July 30th 2024. After the heated meeting, there was a compromise among our faculty and other staff. But, our MKU College Principal has sent his letter of resignation for third time. As a senior faculty member of this college and as a Academic Council Member, I know the procedures. So, I asked some questions in today’s meeting. What is wrong with that and why other faculty members like Prof.George should get annoyed? The fundamental point is Dr.Rani did not complain at all, but some connected members are trying to repair my name,” MKU College professor Dr.K.Mohan has expressed his point when contacted about the Principal’s resignation letter.
