MADURAI: Staff and students of American College in Madurai had yesterday celebrated ‘Global Forgiveness Day’ which is observed every year on July 7th to promote empathy, compassion and harmony among people.
The Department of Psychology of American College had a commemorative event yesterday (July 8th 2024) which was presided over by Principal and Secretary Dr.M.Davamani Christober along with college Bursar Dr.Beaula Ruby Kamalam, and Dean and Coordinator of Psychology Department Dr.D.Lourdu Immaculate.
Pigeons were released to mark the act of letting go which signifies the core essence of Forgiveness Day, a press release from the college had informed. Human chain, art work and thumb prints were some of the activities done by the staff and faculty to mark this day which is to spread awareness about the healing power of forgiveness and its importance for leading a peaceful community by promoting goodwill among people.
