MADURAI: The All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO) had today made an important demand from national capital New Delhi urging the Central government to go for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation agency into the recent NEET scam because CBI enquiry is an eye-wash.

“AIFUCTO totally condemns the highly irresponsible attitude of the Central government towards the recent NEET-UG scandal in our country. AIFUCTO is of the opinion that the centre is primarlily responsible for the cancellation and deferral of UGC and CSIR NET exams and also the NEET-PG exam in just a wekk time. This series of systemic governmental failures have jeopardized the future of many many meritorious students in our country. This is an unprecedented and unforgivable crime committed by Government-appointed agencies,” Prof.Dr.M.Nagarajan, AIFUCTO president and Prof.Dr.Arun Kumar, general secretary of AIFUCTO, said in a national press release on July 1st 2024.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN DEMANDS?

The AIFUCTO has today demanded that there must be a Supreme Court monitored investigation agency of the NEET scam in India because CBI is an eye wash due to what was seen in Madhya Preadesh’s Vyapam scam, it wants the Union Education Minister Mr.Dharmendra Pradhan to resign taking accountability for the NEET scam and it wants NTA to be scrapped and that there should not be any national examining body since it violates the federal spirit of the Constitution of India and marginalized students in the country.

AIFUCTO had demanded today that the conduct of medical entrance examinations should be left to the States and only All India Medical Services Exam must be conducted by the Centre, the press release added.
