MADURAI: ‘Kathamba Vizha’, a well-planned indoor sports and games event for the differently abled persons which was organised by GMS Foundation, got off to a great start at Lakshmi Sundaram Hall in Tallakulam in Madurai today morning- on June 29th 2024.
Mr.S.Rethinavelu, president, Agro Food Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr.K.Samidurai- senior advocate and president of MMBA-High Court, Dr.P.Simmachandran, State president, Federation of Tamil Nadu-Differently Abled Association and Mrs.Rajakumari Jeevagan, founder and chairman, GMS Foundation, were among those who were present and motivated the participants.
The other invitees include Mr.Ba.Ramesh, Director and Co-Founder of Thangamyil Jewellery Ltd and Mr.M.Anbukani, managing director of Penguin Apparels (P) Ltd.
“Kathamba Vizha is an initiative from our GMS Foundation. This two-day indoor sports and games event is exclusively for the differently-abled- covering a wide range of categories including dyslexia, autism, intellectual disabilities, celebral palsy, physically challenged, visual impairments and hearing impairments. We have recieved 450 entries for various events like singing, photography, carrom, chess etc. Participants are mostly from Tamil Nadu and other southern States. There are cash prizes for winners and all participants will receive gifts and participation certificates,” Mr.J.Vijaya Darshan, vice-chairman of the foundation-event, has informed today.
