MADURAI: An awareness programme was conducted by Al Ameen Higher Secondary School at K.Pudur in Madurai today- June 26th 2024- to mark International Day against Drug Abuse.
In this important awareness event, the bad effects of drugs and its dangers were highlighted through participation of students, police and school staff who held the program on behalf of the Police Department, according to a press release received from the school.
School HM Mr.Sheik Nabi had presided over the event while Anna Nagar Police Assistant Commissioner Mr.Govindaswamy spoke about the harms of using drugs.
Mr.Jyothimurugan, K.Pudur station Police Inspector, had urged the students to immediately report to the police if they found anyone selling or using drugs near their houses or near their school. Sub-inspectors Pulikutty Ayyanar and Sion Raja were among those present at this drug abuse awareness event here today in which students took a pledge to eradicate drugs and build a good youth society, the press release added.
