MADURAI: There is no representation from the prestigious Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) of south Tamil Nadu at the two-day Vice-Chancellors conference which began today at Udhagamandalam (May 27th 2024).

Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi today inaugurated the VCs conference of State and Private universities of Tamil Nadu at Udhagamandalam today while University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof.M.Jagadesh Kumar and top education experts across the country took part and addressed special sessions to the Vice-Chancellors on higher education issues, capacity building and empowerment through higher education.

“MKU has no Vice-Chancellor now because Prof.J.Kumar had quit and left two weeks back. The university had given the name of senior professor and Syndicate member Prof.Dr.B.Mayilvaganan to represent MKU at this important conference presided over by Tamil Nadu Governor and Chancellor Mr.R.N.Ravi. All arrangements were made to Syndicate member from the MKU to attend the Vice-Chancellor’s conference as university representative. Vehicle was arranged, and food/vehicle, for whoever is going to the Governor’s conference of VCs. E-pass also was taken. But, we don’t know the reasons, MKU representation was missing at the Governor-presided Vice-Chancellors conference on May 27th and 28th,” MKU sources told ‘Lotus Times’ English media website in Madurai today.
