MADURAI: A team from the Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association-Madurai had met Union Finance Secretary Mr.T.V.Somanathan in New Delhi today- on May 8th 2024- and requested him to convene GST meeting after the new government is formed.
The association team included its president Mr.S.V.S.S.Vel Shankar, advisor Mr.S.P.Jeyapragasam and Executive Committee member K.Karunakaran who discussed with the Finance Secretary about constructive changes to be made in the GST Act, according to a press release received from the association here today.
Meeting with Food Safety CEO:
The association members representing Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association from Madurai along with Edissia president Mr.P.Thirumoorthy and food scientist V.Pasupathy had met the CEO of Food Safety and Standards Authority Mr.Kamalavarthana Rao IAS and submitted to him their representation and requests including to review the quantity standards of sugarcane jaggery and palmyrah jaggery and issues related to FBOs.
