MKU COLLEGE STAFF, STUDENTS RALLY IN SUPPORT OF PRINCIPAL; WANTS HIM TO CONTINUE (PART 1)

MADURAI: In a sudden development, the Principal in-charge of Madurai Kamaraj University College at Alagarkoil Road in Madurai Dr.M.Buvaneswaran has submitted a letter requesting the MKU Registrar to relieve him from the position of Principal in-charge of the college.

The letter dated April 27th 2024 was given in the office of Registrar in-charge of Madurai Kamaraj University, to the office of MKU Vice-Chancellor and to the Dean in-charge (CDC), according to varsity sources.

Dr.Buvaneswaran had stated in his letter that he would like to concentrate on academic activities and hence “I request that I may be relieved from the position of Principal in-charge of MKU College in Madurai from the forenoon of 30th April 2024.”

Sources in MKU College said that the Principal in-charge Dr.M.Buvaneswaran wants to go back and join in the School of Social Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University from April 30th 2024. He has been carrying the responsibility as Principal in-charge of MKU College in Madurai from December 7th 2022.

GUEST LECTURERS SUPPORT PRINCIPAL:

Meanwhile, a large number of guest lecturers, temporary staff, students of MKU College rallied behind Dr.Buvaneswaran in his support, they staged a sit-in protest in the college campus today- on April 29th 2024 Monday- urging the university authorities not to accept the request of Dr.Buvaneswaran and that he should be allowed to work as full-time Principal.

They raised slogans in support of the Principal in-charge Dr.M.Buvaneswaran and demanded that all the faculty members of MKU College should come out and stand for him because he had done a lot for the college development, staff and students.

There are 110 guest lecturers working on consolidated basis in MKU College in Madurai besides 25 staff working on hourly basis and 40 CLR-CPCLRs, sources said.
