MADURAI: The Women Empowerment Cell of Vaigai College of Engineering in Madurai had conducted an awareness programme on the topic “Women in work place: What the law says’ on March 27th 2024 to empower women with knowledge of their legal rights in the workplace.
Mr.K.Samidurai, State president, Indian Association of Lawyers, who was the guest of honour had addressed the students and staff by delving into various legal aspects pertaining to women’s rights in professional settings and work environment.
He gave insights into the practical application of of laws and about the evolution of these laws pertaining to women in workplace, according to a press release received from the college here yesterday. Mr.Samidurai also shared real world experiences and equipped the students with know-how to protect their legal rights effectively. He had an interactive session in which students posed several questions on the topic.
Dr.R.Sivaranjani, Principal in-charge, Mr.R.Manoharan, Administrative Officer, Mr.K.M.Mohan, management representative and Heads of all departments, were present in this awareness programme which was coordinated by Ms.Dhivya, assistant professor (Civil) and Ms.Janaki, assistant professor (English), the press release said.
