MADURAI: Employees and pensioners of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) can heave a sigh of relief as their last three months salary and pension will be disbursed to them in next two or three days.
This was officially informed at the Academic Council meeting held in university campus here on March 13th 2024, where the issue was raised.
“The file regarding our university staff salary and pension amount has moved from the Directorate of Collegiate Education (DCE). It is very likely that you will get the salary in two or three days from today. This is only a temporary solution, but steps and process is already underway for March month salary also. The process has started at Government level. We are hoping to get a special committee constituted soon to solve the long pending issues of our university that is delaying the salary,” MKU elected Syndicate Member Prof.Dr.S.Pushparaj has informed the Academic Council members here today.
The issue of MKU employees’ pending salary for last three months and their agitation was raised at the Academic Council Meeting here today-on March 13th 2024- by Academic Council Member Dr.MSulthan Ibrahim and it was supported by senior members Dr.A.Velanganni Joseph who raised doubts about the recent G.O. issued by the State Government about MKU salary issue.
