MADURAI: A national conference was organized by the Lady Doak College in Madurai on March 11th 2024 with focus on integrating academia and industry perspective in curriculum framework.

Dr.A.W.Santhosh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University-Mumbai, spoke on changing dynamics of academia and paradigm shift required to revolutionize classroom teaching while LDC Principal and Secretary Dr.Christianna Singh had stressed on the significance of future preparedness and curriculum changes needed to prepare the students for right employment.

Dr.Vellarkad N Viswanathan, vice-president of Molecular Solutions-Bengaluru, gave an overview on industry-academia collaboration for research and innovation, according to a press release received from the college here today.

Ms.Mathivathani, associate vice president of Guidance Tamil Nadu, deliberated on the critical role of higher education institutions in accelerating tie-ups with industry by serving as incubation centres for novel startups.

A panel discussion was moderated by Dr.Roopa Ravikumar, retired associate professor of social sciences, in which Mr.Thulasiraj Ravilla, Director-operations, Aravind Eye Care System and Mr.Nanu Swamy, Maxelerator Partner Incubator of IIT Madras, highlighted the challenges of academia-industry collaboration.

Dr.S.K.Suja, associate professor of chemistry and CPEC convenor, had proposed a vote of thanks, the press release said.
