MADURAI: A booklet on what the people of Usilampatti require and what they are demanding from the government, elected representatives and political parties for socio-economic development of their region was released on March 2nd 2024.
Usilampatti Development Centre, a voluntary forum functioning under the aegis of Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (Tamil Nadu), had conducted a detailed field study in January 2024 on the issues faced by Usilampatti people and a booklet was prepared based on 25 broad headings after compiling the points collected from the people.
Dr.K.Muthuchelian, former Vice-Chancellor of Periyar University, Salem, had released the booklet at a discussion meeting held at PMT College in Usilampatti in which experts took part and discussed the key issues of Usilampatti and the possible solutions, according to a press release.
