Religion is to develop peace and forgiveness: Message from 57th Graduation Day of LDC

MADURAI: The importance of religious tolerance, women empowerment and practicing gratitude was highlighted at the 57th Graduation Day of Lady Doak College in Madurai on February 24th 2024.

Dr.M.A.Sikandar, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard (Deemed to be University), New Delhi, who was the chief guest had delivered the graduation day address by stating that religion can be a source of peace-making. He referred to Dalai Lama whose view of religion is to facilitate love, compassion and develop a sense of forgiveness among people.

“Having a sense of gratitude in life is also essential and it is a powerful feeling. Gratitude gives greater joy and contentment. The other important thing is women’s education,” he said.

Totally 1,326 graduates had received their diplomas and degrees at the 57th graduation day event of LDC held in Madurai yesterday, according to a press release from the college. Dr.Christianna Singh, Principal and Secretary, LDC, had presented the college annual report.

Dr.R.Beulah Jeyashree, vice-principal, welcomed the gathering while former student president Ms.G.Arpudha had proposed a vote of thanks. Dr.Mercy Packiyam, Controller of Examinations, LDC and faculty members were among those present.
