
MADURAI: The Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) in Madurai has entered into a collaboration with Goethe Institut in Chennai to enhance the multilingual experience and expertise of students.
A MoU to this effect was signed in Chennai on February 2nd 2024 and this collaboration with Goethe Institut-Chennai marks a significant milestone in promoting German language and culture globally, a press release received from TCE here yesterday has said.
Dr.Katharina Gorgen, Director of the Goethe Institut in Chennai, Dr.Alexandra Mitller, Head of Language Work with Regional Mandate at Goethe-Institut New Delhi, Mr.Puneet Kaur, president of Indo-German Teachers’ Association and Mr.Michaela Kuchler, consultant general, Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany, Chennai, were among those present and shared their thoughts on fostering cross-cultural understanding and role of language in strengthening international ties.
The partnership is poised to enrich the academic, cultural and linguistic proficiency of students and faculty members, by facilitating exchanges and programmes that will create a dynamic learning environment that transcends geographical boundaries for unlocking new opportunities for research and academic excellence through joint initiatives that will enhance students’ employability skills and higher education opportunities abroad, the press release added.
