MADURAI: Former Union Finance Minister Mr.P.Chidambaram had donated Rs.11 crores for establishing a massive Tamil library in Alagappa University in Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu.
This massive library which is named as ‘ValarTamil Noolagam’ is now being constructed to disseminate Tamil culture, Tamil tradition and to promote Tamil language among the younger generation, Vice-Chancellor Prof.G.Ravi has said in his report at the 34th Convocation of Alagappa University held in the varsity campus in Karaikudi today, on January 29th 2024.
Tamil Nadu Governor and Chancellor of Alagappa University Mr.R.N.Ravi had presented degrees and medals to students while IIT Madras Director Prof.V.Kamakoti had motivated the young graduates to succeed with good ideas and self confidence.
Speaking on this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor informed that the university is encouraging inter-disciplinary, multi-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary ideas to promote innovate ideas and research, to give a fillip to startups and give a boost to innovative young entrepreneurs with a full focus on relevant employability, theme based research projects, patents and skill development.
