MADURAI: The All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO) had reiterated its demand for immediate rollback of National Education Policy 2020, provide dignified service conditions for all categories of teaching employees and restoration of Old Pension Scheme.
These demands were made at the 33rd statutory conference of AIFUCTO which was held at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh from 19th to 21st January 2024, in which delegates from various States had participated, according to a press release received from AIFUCTO here today- on January 27th 2024.
Prof.Dr.Arun Kumar, general secretary of AIFUCTO, has said that a resolution was unanimously passed to continue and intensify the struggle “to save the Constitution, save the inclusive character of education which is now being threatened by NEP 2020.”
In this conference, Prof.M.Nagarajan was elected as president and for a fifth consecutive term Prof.Dr.Arun Kumar was elected as general secretary. The conference also elected various other office-bearers of AIFUCTO for 2024-2026, and they include seven national secretaries, 12 vice-presidents and 10 zonal secretaries, the press release said.
