MADURAI: Students and staff of Fatima College in Madurai had celebrated Pongal festival in college campus on January 20th 2024 in a traditional manner with cheer and exuberance.
The final year UG and PG students were draped in bright sarees for the Pongal celebration conducted in a cultural aura, and this joy was shared by giving the pongal to underprivileged, a press release from Fatima College has said.
Dr.Sr.G.Celine Sahaya Mary, Fatima College Principal, had addressed the students who prepared the ‘Pongal’ giving them practical experience and also values like unity, perseverance, patience and thrift. “When the mind is weak, even the situation becomes a problem, when the mind is balanced the tough situation becomes a challenge and only when the mind is strong, the situation becomes an opportunity,” the Principal had exhorted the students.
She told the Fatima College students to spread happiness through inclusiveness and sharing their joy with downtrodden and mariginalised people, the press release added for the Pongal celebration event in which the students, college management, faculty and also outgoing students took part.
