CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi had felicitated the volunteers, organizers and coordinators of the second edition of Kasi Tamil Sangaman for making the event a grand success, at a function held in Raj Bhavan in Chennai on January 9th 2024.
He felicitated the participants from IIT Madras, IIT Banaras Hindu University, Union Ministry of Education, IRCTC and Southern Railway. In his speech, the Governor had elaborated how people used to move across the country before the colonization of Bharat, unmindful of kings and kingdoms.
“This spirit of oneness had deteriorated during the colonial era. Even after getting Independence, we continued looking at our nation from the western perspective. We even failed to introduce Bharat to our younger generations,” he said.
The Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi also spoke about Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s initiatives in rejuvenating the true spirit of oneness of Bharat as one family. He urged the Kashi Tamil Sangamam participants to disseminate their experiences to the people and make them part of national awakening, a press release received from Raj Bhavan has informed.
Delegates and participants of KTS 2.0- Dr.Lakshmi Karmegam (writers batch), Mr.Aadhavan (spiritual batch), Mr.Kalaiselvan (students batch), Dr.Gurugnambigai (teachers batch) and Mr.Sugan Harish (IIT Madras volunteer and onboard coordinator) had shared their KTS 2.0 experiences.
Mr.R.Kirlosh Kumar, Secretary to Governor, Prof.V.Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, Prof.R.Chandrasekaran, Director of Central Institute of Classical Tamil-Chennai and Mr.Kaushal Kishore, Additional General Manager of Southern Railway were among those present at the felicitation function.
